Global Business Services Incentive (GBS)
South Africa is considered a prime location for the Global IT-enabled services industry. The Dtic’s GBS provides a cost sharing grant (paid over 5 years) for the establishment of IT-enabled business services that will support foreign customers.

Funds Available:
- Contribution towards the cost per job created
- Impacted by the number and complexity of jobs created
Qualifying projects:
- South African entities establishing a “call-centre” to service a foreign client(s)
Qualifying costs:
- Fully loaded cost per job (includes: salaries & benefits, facilities, telecommunication & equipment, other overheads)
Requirements:
- B-BBEE Level 1-8
- At least a 3-year fixed term contract for offshoring activities
- Creation of new employment over 3 years at minimum levels based on complexity of job (non-complex = 50, complex and highly-complex jobs = 30)
- Minimum levels of youth employment based on complexity of job (non-complex = 80%, complex and highly-complex jobs = 60%)
- Projects must be financially viable
