Critical Infrastructure Programme (CIP)
An incentive of up to R50 million in grant funding on a cost sharing basis for large scale local infrastructure projects in water & energy alleviation, rail, road, bridges, bulk water etc. that is required to stimulate or capacitate industrial investment.

Funder & Type of Funding:

Funds Available:
- Up to R50 million on a cost sharing basis
- 10% – 80% of qualifying costs – depending on the industry and type of project
Qualifying Projects:
- South African entities that require critical infrastructure in order to effect other investment
- Includes new (start-up) projects and expansion of existing projects
Qualifying Costs:
- Direct costs – design, installation, construction and erection of the infrastructure
Requirements:
- B-BBEE Level 1-6
- Signed infrastructure BoQ (where applicable)
- Relevant permits and authorisations
- Confirmation of “matched” funding – required for the portion not funded by the grant
