Export Marketing and Investment Assistance (EMIA)
The Dtic understands the importance of unlocking export markets for local manufacturers. This grant focuses on developing export markets for local products and services by supporting participation in industry exhibitions both locally and in foreign markets.

Funds Available:
- Costs to attend up to 6 events per year (±R100,000 per event)
- 50% of the cost to register IP in a foreign market – capped at R100,000 contribution
Qualifying entities:
- South African manufacturers and exporters
Qualifying costs:
- Costs associated with attending exhibitions, including; return airfare, accommodation, transport of samples, exhibition fees, construction of stands, and others (limits apply)
- Costs associated with registering intellectual property (IP) in foreign markets (e.g. patents, trademarks etc.)
Requirements:
- B-BBEE Level 1-4
- Must be export ready
- Prove production capacity to export
- 1 year track record
